Intimate Guitar Suites offers solutions to music production challenges faced by all soundtrack producers and music supervisors. Introducing suites and elements – tools for the modern film, TV, podcasting and multimedia producer:
Suites
The traditional function of a suite is to organize pieces into a collection. Intimate Guitar Suites does that with film and tv programming in mind.
Intimate Guitar Suites begins with a medium tempo piece. Then we create a slower version (eg. at a rubato tempo) as well as one or two at faster tempos. When these are composed, arranged and performed specifically with the new tempo in mind (as opposed to just time-stretched digitally), they feel fresh while retaining the essence of the original theme.
Listen to these pieces from the suite “Willamette Wine Tour” (by Jon Neufeld) and imagine how they could be part of a soundtrack:

The medium tempo piece might appear at the beginning of a show, possibly under the credits as the day begins, etc. The fast version could appear several times throughout the program, punctuating more active moments. Finally, the rubato rendition could be useful for thoughtful, more melancholy scenes.
The restatement of the theme in different contexts makes the music a key supporting factor in a much more cohesive production.
Elements
Musical segments are often needed for transitions and scene changes. This is where Intimate Guitar Suites elements come in. Once you’ve chosen the suite, you may need shorter segments from the main theme. One of these might work nicely:

We start by analyzing a composition. Then we create several elements (sometimes as many as 30) from each suite in order to meet different musical needs – from theme snippets to simple strums and arpeggios.
