COMMERCIALS/PROMOS

Clearance Definitions:

Commercials: Productions that promote a product or service for commerce.

Promos: Productions that promote program viewership.

Infomercials: Extended length productions that promote a product or service for commerce.

PSA: (Public Service Announcement); non-profit production that provides information or service to the general public.

Clearances:

All TV Media: Telecast on all free TV, cable (basic & premium subscription), digital TV, and DBS.

Cable: Telecast on cable (basic and premium subscription), digital TV and DBS only.

Free TV: Telecast on free TV only.

In-Theater: Exhibition in a movie theater.

Internet: Webcast on the Internet in linear or non-linear, non-downloadable form only (audio or visual).

In-Store / On-Hold Message: Telephone or in-store audio delivery.

Radio: Broadcast on radio. Includes Internet simulcast.

Territories:

Local: Airing in a single state only, no major markets*.

Regional: Airing in up to and including five states, which may include a single major market*.

National / Nationwide: Airing only in U.S. and Canada, in either:

  • at least two major markets* or,
  • more than five states. (Includes Internet when the ALLTV clearance is granted).

Worldwide: Airing internationally, including U.S.and Canada. (Includes Internet simulcast)

*Major markets are New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and nationally in Canada.

Please note:
  • Clearances for all TV national and all worldwide spots include Internet simulcast.
  • Each tag is charged at 50% of the original fee, unless the unlimited tags clearance is requested.
  • For Internet Usage, music cannot be downloadable separate from the production.
